I loved converting .avi and DVDs to MP4 for my W580i using M3 - the quality was awesome. Something happened, cos now, all I get is hanging during conversion (101% complete??) and crashing with windows error msgs. I've un/re-installed M3 at least 4 times, and 'repaired' the 2.0 framework exactly as as I did with the initial install - but I can only get a small (6 min) avi file to convert now. FYI: my phone is not listed in M3, but I was told to use the K800 profile.
I've tried the tips found in this forum: disconnecting from internet, unchecking volume boost etc. But the problem persists. I even did a system restore on my PC and re-restored it back when M3 still wouldn't work. The only cause I can think of is the cleaning of my registry one day. What a shame. Has this happened to anyone else? I guess I have to wade through the pile of other converters to find a suitable replacement now. ImTOO did not produce a watchable video file for me - sound was un-synched, and video quality poor. Unless I can 'fix' the program, it's on to total video converter and mpeg4 direct maker.
Now I've got the memory I have nothing to use it for! Shame.
Any clues? Anyone? Help!

hmmm, i don't know what to tell you except that i encoded a ton of music last night with M3 without a problem. must have been some data corruption along the line somewhere on your computer...

The strange thing is, after an uninstall and removal of the files that I can find and a reinstallation/repair of dot net framework copying of the Nero files to the M3 bin folder, M3 starts up with the same settings I was using before I removed it!
This leads me to believe that I'm not getting a complete uninstall.
If I can completely uninstall and reinstallation, perhaps the program will work as before.
I know this is more PC related, but I thought it strange that the settings were somehow 'remembered' by my PC; and if the settings remained, there's a chance that the corrupted files or whatever made it break were never removed either, right?
Anyone know how to get a complete uninstallation?
I'm bummed about this whole thing and am downloading mpeg4 maker and total video converter now - I think that the results are always user specific - I read great things about ImTOO but when I tried that, the conversion was unwatchable.
Sorry for the rant and thank you all, I've learned a lot at Esato.

started yesterday, uninstalled/reinstalled, no joy, same problem, any suggestions?
only thing i can think of is i used camtasia video editing software yesterday, maybe thats caused it?!?

This is interesting. My M3 has stopped working too as of yesterday. It crashes some 10 seconds after startup, presenting a 'M3 has encountered a problem and has to close' message.
The only thing I can think of is recently installing NET 3.0, but reverting to 2.0 made on difference. Have uninstalled/reinstalled M3 to no avail.

The same error message pops up shortly after I start up M3 . Not sure if there is any connection, but I had installed (and later uninstalled) a virtual drive a few days ago.
