I know the M600 is nearly two years old, but my birthday is coming up in a few months and want UIQ but don't want to spend a lot of money (especially when there's no EDGE/850Mhz/camera)....and the M600 is damn good looking.
I live in the US and I looked at a coverage map of where I live. It's covered exclusively by 1900Mhz--no 850 in sight. So, this is good, I suppose.
So I want to know three things: (1) should I just save my money and forget about it (well, someone else's money...it is MY birthday, after all

)? And (2) does anyone in the US have the M600 and how does it perform reception-wise? And (3), does the lack of EDGE completely kill the experience?
Thanks!

Thanks, but I'd feel silly reposting the question now.
I'll remember that for the future, though.
ETA: Does anyone on the US thread actually own a phone?

I don't see any actual tech discussion.

you could also consider the w950i...Or one of the new to be quite 'affordable'
SE G-series,i think they'll be available in Q2...

Right, but like I said, I'm looking for something inexpensive and the M600 is only $249USD. I could spring for the new G-series, but with the P5i just around the corner (no, the other corner!

) I don't want to spend more than I have to right now.
Perhaps I should learn to be patient.

But the M600 is an awesome-looking phone.

1. I'd rather save the money. The G900 seems nice enough to be worth the wait. 2. I have the w950i and my brother has the m600i. We live in the Northeast. No issues with reception. 3. I've never had a phone with anything faster than gprs. I wouldn't know if a lack of EGDE is a big deal. Sorry.

i love the m600i - i think it looks so muck better than the p1i - especially the white one. if you dont mind not having a camera then its a bargin! The m600i has 3g so lack of hspda not too much of a bother here in the UK but in the USA it might be a pain?

i've had an m600 in the us/east coast for about a year and a half.i've never had a reception probllem in fact it s call quality is better than my tytnll! as far as internet goes browsing,email/push,rss feeds are no botther over gprs opera8.5 loads very fast(text fiirst, than pics come in.)but if your gonna dowwnload anything over 1mb. be prepaired to wait....and wait. also take into consideration the m600 and all uiq3 devices have bluetooth pan. you can think off it as wifi over bt,but obviously with shorter range.aprox 10meters.i use this in my house and get speeds around 750kbs. bassically it lets you use your desktops broadband on your m600 over b.t. the p990 is also very cheap and comes with an fm radio, cam, and wifi b.
the m600
has served me well,is solid, and is a great pim.
