> Carphone Warehouse and its 'repair' service

So I took my mum's w300 into Carphone Warehouse for repair (see
this thread) and they called me the next day to say the phone was fixed and ready for collection.
Went there this morning and the phone still doesn't work. All they did was flash the firmware. I know this because as he was handing me the phone the guy said, "We've upgraded your software for you when we fixed it". When I switched the phone on, it ran the first run setup, so I know they didn't even switch it on and test it before phoning me.
They've now ordered a replacement phone to be sent direct to my address. What's the betting it'll be the same phone?

Well i had a phone reflashed there twice and both times the service was very good no problems. Only problem i had with them was their confusing insurance policy. I took one out and they said first payment will come out in a months time. It came out within 2 weeks with no warning and i never had the money in the bank so i was charged by the bank. :@

CPW repairs are very good,
if you all remember my D900i where I messed up the EROM they replaced it for me even though it was bought at a 02 shop
ive had other phones repaired quickley off them too,
but ive found that Intercity Communications repeair even faster you can go and collect your phone within 2 days even if they have to send it to Nokia you still get your phone back
its a shame they don't fix

handsets but they do fix Samsungs aswell Great Speedy service
is the W300 still available to buy?

Yes no where else can you get such speedy repair when it comes to sorting out a phones software anyway. My 6300 months ago was flashed and it was done by next day and they always loan you a phone. Vodafones in shop repair is also very good they text you when your phone comes in and gives you an update via text on its progress. Very good. It was even back in store at exact time they said it would.
