Yes, I noticed that when I used mine! However I have heard that 3 have the right to block the phone IMEI from their network if it is a NON 3G phone. Essentially the 3 signal must be coming via another network, I don't know that exact physics behind how it works.
This might be utter rubbish, not looking to damage your sale, but buyer should be aware of this. (Assuming it is correct).
