that's an option which flips the display when u flip the phone,just like what happens when u take a picture with a SE phone

or to put it in layman's terms;
when you hold the phone vertically upright(ie, keypad at bottom of screen) the screen will display the image in portrait mode.
When you turn the phone horizontally upright(ie, keypad at right of screen) the phone will display the image in landscape mode.

good cuz on the videos of the x1 it looks like it only flip when you pull out the qwerty keybord out.
