Hi All

I have SKY Broadband and a Netgear router. Sky however is not my ISP.

I have long time ago setup my PDA wifi but I simply cannot remember how I did it. Sky have provided me with my SSID which is SKYnnnnn and a Network Key which is an 8 alpha AAAAAAAA

I also travel a lot so would like to setup wifi connections in the hotels I stop at - only about six and each will give me a key. I think from memory I use WEP encryption but not sure.

Could some kind soul give me a step by step guide as to how to set this up please because the following assumes I have bonded and I have not:

extract from another post:
Once you've created the bond with your wireless network (which I assume you have) you then need to go into the Connections options and add it to the internet group. I set my WiFi as first priority then 3G as my second so I always use WiFi at home).

Control Panel
Connections
Internet Accounts

Ensure you have your WiFi name shown here which is the one you should have when you initially created the connection.

Then select the Groups tab. I have a separate group for email & internet but by default you just likely to have internet.

Press/select the Internet Group
You are likely to have your GPRS/3G accont showing here already.
Select Add new account then select the WiFi account to add to the group. You can then set the preference.

Question from me: what do the preferences give you.

Thanks very much

If you are using a Sky router then surly Sky is your ISP!!

Familiarise yourself with your wireless settings in your Sky Broadband Router by navigating to http://192.168.0.1 and login with User name Admin and password Sky. I changed my Security to WEP so that some of my other equipment can use the Wireless network. Type in a passphrase (just any made up password) and generate 1 key containing letters and numbers. Now use that 1 key when you create the WLAN connection on your W960i

I wrote a guide to Connection Manager on my W960i blog which might help you once you have created your WLAN connection http://myw960i.blogspot.com/2[....]-connection-manager-on-my.html
