I've yet to try the wlan as I don't have it in my house.
On the few occasions I have been in hotspots I have activated , scanned and found connection.
But when i try to connect all i get is a white screen , no browser.
Someone said I should go on Vodafone Live and choose wlan option or something.
Can someone advise the best way to get online in a hotspot on a Vodafone w960i ?
Many thanks in advance

I can offer some advice as I use WLAN at home and have also used Free Public WiFi on a couple of occasions.

I don't think you will be able to connect to live.vodafone.com when using WLAN.

I have noticed recently that when using Free Public WiFi I seem to get an odd IP address such as XXX.XXX.XXX.0 and then Opera Mini cannot connect. I think the .0 is a bad thing.

At home WLAN works extremely well and web browsing is much more responsive especially using Opera Mini.

When on WLAN any application using a Vodafone Wap or Vodafone Internet connection will not be able to connect.

I have put the WLAN connections into the top of my Connection Manager groups so WLAN is used before 3G.

When using WLAN the default browser can't open live.vodafone.com (shows blank screen and eventually an error) but I can navigate directly to a site or use a shortcut.

The trick is to have your accounts and groups setup just right. For more info have a look at my blog at http://myw960i.blogspot.com/
