Hey,
I've been reading through the forums about the k850i, and am now in doubt about buying it due to some of the negative feedback it was collecting. I decided to find out for myself what this controversial phone was like, so I popped down to T-Mobile and asked to try it out. With me I bought my current phone, K800i, and a 5 MPX camera to try to tell the the difference. All were taken on auto and none have been edited (cause I don't know how to do that). Personally I think the k850i's camera is fine, and better than my k800i, especially as it still has the protective layer on. I also think it is not to far off the real camera, but this is simply my opinion, check them out yourself:

I hope this helps some shifty buyers out there. I would like to see what you think, cause I'm in a bit of indecision whether to buy the k850i or not. The camera seemed fine to me, but the menus seemed very slow, anyone with one want to shed some light on the situation, thanks,

Actually k800i camera protector design also same as k850i, inside got auto open close protector. When you slide the camera cover of k800i, it will open, but just we cant saw it only. The different is k850i dont have camera cover protector.

Thanks for the comparison. When doing comparison like this, you should always use a tripods or other type of steady support. The K800 photo is slightly blurry because of camera vibration.

If possible also include the EXIF data so we know in what conditions the images were taken.

For your Sony SDC-P10 the data was:
ISO 100, F2.8, Exposuer Time 1/50" and 7.9mm Focal length

The two other images did not have any EXIF data. My guess is that you have rotated them, and the program doing this have removed the EXIF data at the same time. If you did rotated them, you also changed the images and spoiled the original quality

I think the image quality of all three phones are good enough for at least 10x15cm (4x6 inch) prints.

Thats funny, i havn't rotated them at all. The exif data is still with me on my computer? Have downloaded the .zip file, the images in there should nearly definately have the exif data.

With another cam driver K800 could take much much better pictures than that. Plus the only visible differences between K850 and K800 is that K850 has a better contrast, and more sharpness. But again another driver for K800 would make miricals

no you wrong...a "modded cam driver"(NOT original -driver) will make little better indoor pics with k800.

k850 is still far better with low light, indoor, etc.

Its difficult to compare 100% because the K800 shot came out blurry due to vibration from holding the camera. But as far as I can tell the K800 shot is better than the K850.

Putting aside the fact that the K800 slot is blurry, you can clearly see that there is a lot more noise going on in the K850 shot, as well as a lot of strange pixilated artifacts. This is most likely due to cramming a 5mp sensor in a small package, making it less sensitive to light. If the K800 shot had not come out blurry, I am positive it would look a lot better than the K850.
As mentioned before, a tripod would have to be used next time.

Radiux i'ver got both phones(k810 & k850)........and your wrong k850 is better...in dayligt you get more detailes and sharper pictures.....in low light and indoors is no comparasion between the two k810...sucks in low light and indoor shots.....and the flash is like 15 % better then the one on k810/k800 more natural color and a bit stronger
