> Warning given over techno addicts

"A growing number of people are becoming addicted to their mobile phones, Blackberries and other digital devices, researchers are warning.
Techno addiction can become so bad that people wake up several times a night to check their e-mails and text messages.
It can even interfere with an addict's job as he feels he has to be linked up all the time, says Professor Nada Kakabadse of Northampton University.... "

i sleep with my mobile too, cos i use it as an alarm clock... and yes, i am addicted, cos my mobile allowes me to stay in contact with all my friends all around the world... so this prof who made this "amazing result", should get a life imo. that university should be really rich to piss off money for such crappy tests and research

@Boba
An addict will always justify his addiction, not suggesting you are an addict for a second. But there are people that have been known to have full panic attacks if there phone stops ringing or receiving texts or E-Mails.
Personally i think this has more to do with people that have and addictive personality rather than becoming an addict due to the technology available and i would think being addicted to your Mobile may qualify as less harmful then some others we can all think of.
Although obviously any addiction is bad just by definition, remember my going cold turkey thread as in a way i was addicted to buying new and better devcies? Thankfully i seem to of kicked that for now but it may be harder this year with all the new devices and the advances they will bring.

Well considering you're already interested in the BB 8120, its safe to say that you like the idea of getting you're emails in real-time. If its you're primary phone, I'll BET you after 1mth of using it with full Blackberry data plan (unltd browsing too) that you'll be somewhat addicted ... IF emails are that important to you. But if you're hookd on your N95/K850i's camera ... you'll be left missing it.
Its absurd but when you've seen so many ppl using one that you wonder how can they ever be addicted. Its mostly business users that you'll see walking with their eyes affixed to the BB and heads down not even watching where they're going. I've seen "suits" bang their heads - BOTH: up/down -, step in turd not knowing it, even bump into someone having their coffee spill on, well their suits.
