Hi, I havent updated the firmware since Ive bought the P1, just want to know if the version I have has bugs and is it worth updating it?

Taken from the Status:
Phone - CXC 162037 R9G007
Bluetooth - CXC162143 R1C
Organiser - CXC 162108 R6D23
CDA - CDA162024/55 R6A

Thanks!

Edit: I have had problems such as not able to recieve phone calls as it goes straight to voicemail even though the phone displays full reception, failure to deliver text messages with full reception. Its happened on more than one occassion, everytime I have to restart the phone. Could this be because of the firmware?

It could possibly be a problem with your sim card? Not sure about this though.

But to anwer your question - this is not a known firmware issue as far as I'm aware, and I do seem to spend a lot of time looking at this forum...

I'd suggest contacting your provider, though the likelyhood is that they'll blame your phone - but you never know, they may have had some problems.

The next logical step would be to take it to one of SE's service centres.

Do not take it to service centre, they almost spoilt/scratched my phone. Simply make a backup and reinstall firmware to 100%.

Well it sounds far more like a hardware or network fault to me - especially due to it's intermittent nature. In fact it does remind me of problems I had with my P990, and no firmware updates ever fixed that....
