Had my my HPM-10 mp3 for a while (got very cheap). Read a lot about maximum memory size it would work with and if you could use SD cards.
As I'm getting a P800 soon anyway I took it apart (just two small Torx screws behind label and slotted in a SanDisk 256MB SD card (very tight fit as contact area is shaped to only take an mmc.
Anyway sure that all contacts made contacts with the SD & nothing! Zip!
So. I can definitely confirm that SD cards don't work in the mp3 player.
Good news is that my SD still works fine after this experiment and so does my HPM-10 with its 64MB MMC card.
