Hello friends. I am having NOKIA 3220 with CA-42 connectivity adapter cable. I use it for data transfer between my pc and mobile. I have activated GPRS on my mobile and want to use internet in pc through it. I had installed the modem and created a dial up connection. But whenever I try to connect it, it gives an error message that the modem is not properly installed. Please tell me the complete process to install modem and to create a new dial up connection. Also, tell me the charges of internet in IDEA and AIRTEL.

Hi friend its Simple.

Just Connect your phone to the Computer via CA-42 Serial Cable, now when your phone is detected (at corner of the desktop where clock is displayed, a ballon will appear and will say that Nokia 3220 Connected), if it it not detected by the computer then open PC Suite got to Manage Connections, Make sure "Serial Cable DKU-5, CA-42)" is checked now click on "configuration" and Select the Port in which you have inserted the Serial cable of your Phone (It can be COM 2, COM3, COM4, or something like that).
Click OK. Now You will see that your phone is Connected.
If still not connected try GET CONNECTED in PC SUITE or try Restarting your Computer.

After your phone is connected

Go to Nokia PC-SUITE Click on "Connect to the Internet" and click on the Settings Click next You will get two options select the operator from the list and Configure manually. Click on the list of operator and select your operators name and click next and finish or ok what ever it asks,

Now go to Connect to the internet in PC-Suite and it will automatically connect you to the internet.

Now open the Internet Explorer and Enjoy Surfing.

ONE THING MORE TO BE NOTED..........

if you are trying to connect to the internet by creating a dial up, then you have to do more work in it... so connect using PC SUITE.....

The nokia phones which are using serial cable like CA 42, DKU 5 ... they have very lenthy process of connecting to internet like your 3220, 6070, 6080 or other....

i use GPRS by my Nokia N81 this phone is great for INTERNET, N81 is internet edition phone from nokia and specially meant for internet ..........


AND ABOUT THE RATES OF GPRS...
I DONT KNOW ABOUT IDEA BUT AIRTEL PROVIDES GPRS AT A LOW COST OF 249/- per month with unlimited downlds in JHARKHAND....
