I am thinking of buying the W880i as its cheap now but i have something holding me back. Can anyone tell if its true that this phone has a problem with the microphone. I have read threads on people on the other end of the line not hearing the caller calling from one of these phones. Is it firmware issue if so or not. Could it be microphone sensitivity being poor. I wanna know as im very fussy about call quality. And i like this phone. Oh and whats latest firmware.

i've never had a problem with the microphone or call quality. i've had my W880 for quite a while now and i'm very happy with it, especially now that i have an 8GB M2 in it

as for the latest firmware, you can check the W880 firmware thread somewhere here on esato. mine is still running R6B, but since i have no problems whatsoever, i don't really feel the need to upgrade.

Must admit I thought mine really excelled in the call quality, one of the clearest handsets I've used. Noticed too how the price has started to tumble must be as the 890i is about to be released.

Good news that people have had good experiences with it as i really like that phone and wanted one for ages but it was far too pricey at the time. To surprise the keys were easy to use considering my big hands. Lol. Though as well as reliability and good build quality the call quality is what i get fussy about in a phone cos at the end of the day its one of the main reasons you use a phone.
