I cant call and use the internet simultaneously. When i receive a call it automatically disables the internet and resumes it when i end the call. When samsungs, SE and motos can do those, why cant nokia?

No phone can use GPRS and GSM simultaneously as GPRS requires a connection to the network, so when a call comes in, or goes out, that also needs a connection to the network.. therefore drops/hangs/holds the GPRS connection...

Nokia might display a G with a cross through it, Moto, Samsung and SE merely don't show that you lose the connection.

The class indicates the mobile phone capabilities.

Class A
Class A mobile phones can be connected to both GPRS and GSM services simultaneously.


Class B
Class B mobile phones can be attached to both GPRS and GSM services, using one service at a time. Class B enables making or receiving a voice call, or sending/receiving an SMS during a GPRS connection. During voice calls or SMS, GPRS services are suspended and then resumed automatically after the call or SMS session has ended.


Class C
Class C mobile phones are attached to either GPRS or GSM voice service. You need to switch manually between services.

most are class B and so you can only use either voice or gprs at one time

I'm fairly sure that K700 (nor any other SE) is class A

Whenever i have been on the net with a Nokia it displays the G and when a call or text comes through a small red line goes through it. Its impossible on any phone to have internet and call at same time though you can still be connected to the net while on the all showing on screen but it wont work otherwise.

I have an old version of the K700i white paper (dated Nov 2004) and it says on page 54 that Class B and C are supported.
