I've just enabled this. It's interesting that by default it is disabled.
I've heard that it can slow the device down a bit, and that it uses more battery life.
What are your opinions?

when i first got my m600 there was no option to turn them off - we had to wait months for SE to implement it. When they finally did it was the happiest day of my life. OK, maybe a slight exaggeration but you get the point.

Another way of saying menu animations.

Nice feature, but should be turned on by default. This way, people don't even know what it is. I had it on for couple of months, nice show, but not nearly as smooth as iPhone, so I turned them off...

I keep it OFF because I can see it lags a little bit when it's on. It wasn't much of a change anyway.

never been too much of a fan of eye candy, especially on something as functional as a phone, hence I leave it off.
I'd rather it just did what I asked of it as fast as possible, though it seems manufacturers think otherwise, and that we should see such devices as fascinating magical worlds to be absorbed by. I personally have other toys for that, when they build a phone with 5.1 surround sound, and the ability to project cinema sized HDTV, then I'll be fascinated. 'Till then, I think I'll stick to making calls/sending texts & playing the odd game etc. without the platform trying to distract me with vacuous effects.
Sorry - rant over

I turned on transitions this morning - just to see what its really all about. Errr... maybe I'm not looking right, but I absolutely haven't seen any animations/effects since.
