Could you possibly give a bit more information as to what video it is not playing as your post doesn't give any clues other than you say it isn't. What is the video format is it encoded in? would be a good start but as much information as possible would help understand what your problem is.

ok, here are what i did. i tried mpeg-4 and h.264/avc.
- mpeg-4
. video resolution: 320x240
. video bitrate: 512
. video frame rate: 30fps
. audio codec: mpeg-4 aac
. audio bitrate: 80
. audio sample rate: 44100
. audio channels: 2
my 5610 can't play smoothly with these setting, but if i change to 15fps, if's ok, smooth with its 15fps.
when i convert to h.264/avc -> my 5610 plays only audio.
my friend's 6500 slide also has the same problem as mine, same setting.
do you have any idea about these problem? thanks

i've already tried 20fps, still can't play smoothly. why do we need to reduce fps. the phone itself should perform what developer has promised to cumstomers, "play QVGA at 30fps," Nokia stated very clear about this. I really disappoint on NOKIA 5610. hope that new firmware wil fix such these stupid bug.

I don't now what converter you are using but these are the settings that i use on my E90 with no dropped frames or other problems although intially i did get sound and no vision or vice verse once i played around a little this what now works for me.
Video MP4 h.264
25FPS
Video bit Rate 698kbps
Audio
AAC
Audio Sample rate 44,800kbps
Audio Bit Rate 192kbps
2 channels
I don't know if your conversion software has any presets but until the E90 i was using the preset for the ipod and that just worked without needing any settings. Also what source are you converting from as i have found how they were intially encoded can also some times effect the results you get.
Remember 30fps is what the devcie will record and playback video at but Films and TV shows are not recording at this and from your settings to me it looks like both your audio and video Bit rates are to low and your frame rate to high. I'm going to try and check if i can see more information for the preset ipod settings that i know work and obviously if i find them will post gain but for now try the above and see what happens, good luck.

well, thanks for your sharing. Actually, i can play video smoothly, QVGA VGA at 30fps, in my brother's N95 8GB. but the problem is only with my 5610, s40 5th edition. i m currently use SUPER, imToo, xilisoft, total video,... i've tried many softs to convert video, but all video files can't be played smoothly at any frame beside below 15fps. that's for .mp4. if i use h.264/avc, which NKOIA developer said 5610 support, can play only sound, no video, just show the small video icon and sound along with. REALLY, REALLY

with NOKIA, if 5610's next firmware still not fix these problem, I WILL NEVER BUY ANY NOKIA PHONE AGAIN.

@QVGA
i've dropped to 128bitrate for video, result is still the same. oly 15fps can be played smoothly. with 15fps, i set bitrate to 1500 -> still can play smoothly. i thk 5610 support only 15fps. So why nokia try to state 30fps. sounds like imperfect information, cheatted by fake ads. so sad, NOKIA

true. 5610 video is a bit choppy.not the 30fps i expected.
i sent a video captured by my w900 to the 5610 of my friend.
side by side, simulatneous playing of the same video showed 5610 freezes some of the frames.
