I just had to tell someone.
I was on O2 on a £19 18month contract, i phoned up today to get an upgrade and the first person said it would be £200 for the P1i, i said i'd be better off being a new customer on a £20 contract because they pay £160, so she offered me that deal, but i said i should get better for being a returning customer but she just made up excuses,
so i said if she can't do better i wanted to leave O2,
so she put me through to retentions, they listened to me (I wasn't even slightly pushy), they talked to their manager and straight off offered me the £35 contract for £20 with free unlimited internet bolt-on worth £7.50 a month and the phone for free.
I nearly exploded.
I was hoping for at best the same contract and the phone for £90 because that's what it costs as a new customer on the next higher tariff.

i love o2 retentions. i wanted a p1 upgrade when it first came out - i agreed to pay £90 for it and that was that. But then 10mins later i had a voicemail from the guy i had been speaking to saying they were going to give it to me for £20! they just did themselves out of £70 for no reason.
