After I put the previous firmware on my P1i, don't know what I might have done, also... but I can see Sync'd email under messaging, and it makes the scrollbars appear, cause it's the last item in the list, and it's expanding the view... how to get rid of that?

Try

Messaging - more - settings - email accounts - select the account and delete with the backspace button on the keypad (or press more - delete account).

Also, if you use pcsuite, make sure you're not syncing email, as this will make it reappear.

that's not so easy... since it's not listed under sync'd email! Also, after a clean firmware update, is there, in the phone! no restore from a previous backup, nothing!
