Hello guys.

I have a P990i right now, and I have a few gripes about it. After about 6 months of usage, 5 of my keypad buttons don't work anymore (including the most important center selection key and left soft keys). I'm thinking about a new phone now.

I want to stick with Sony Ericsson. I ABSOLUTELY want a phone with some sort of black list / call filter function, and that's probably the most important thing. the 2nd most important thing I need will be profiles (for some reason P990i don't have it, not even through 3rd party softwares).

Now series doesn't matter (Walkman, Cybershot, etc.) but I prefer something not Walkman, because I already have an iPod.

So basically, I don't know if any SE phones have blacklist/call filter built in, and I figured that if anyone knows, it will be here

thanks alot!

Well I have a K850i can't really fault it really, can't say about realiablty as i have only had it a couple of months but it seems to be handling usual use ok. Only downside is the flash on the camera for the moment but it seems to becoming a growing thing that people are trying to fix, and the phone has got better since the new firmware has come out.

My friend has a Nokia N82 now i know u said u rly wanted a sony but its like a N95 and a K850i have had a baby cos it really is sexy although i dont think i would go back to nokia after using my K850i

thanks jcgibbins for the response.

Does K850 have blacklist and profiles? Those are my 2 main concerns. Otherwise I really like the K850i (a good camera is more important than music player to me)

The K850i cannot filter calls.
Only UIQ Sony Ericssons can do that.
P990i, P1i etc.

You better think about one of those or a Nokia N82, N81, N95 etc if you want to filter calls.

UIQ filters calls better than S60 IMO (assuming using the default call-filter s/w).
You have more options in filtering calls.

And I agree, proprietary SE can't filter calls, except in making some whitelist, consists of 10 contacts only.

I already have a P990i, and I'm using Advanced Call Filter software to filter calls. It works fine, but there are NO SOFTWARES for profiles on UIQ 3. Before the P990i I had a P910a, and they had both filters and profile softwares.

Why doesn't SE put something so basic as profiles on a smart phone? UGH!

Worst case I'll have to go Nokia, but all my BlutTooth peripherals are SE, I don't want to deal with compatibility issues (I had a Nokia BT headset, and it didn't really work with my P990i)

If there are any info on the upcoming phones that might have call filters (maybe G700/G900 might have it) then I can wait...

Basically you have this option in all the phones as default itself where you can accept calls only from selected people.. its very much like the Blacklist ..
( Settings - Calls - Manage Calls - Accept calls -
All callers, Only from List, None.(for the k850i) ),
and yes it does have profiles..
