WOW! Great news. I found a new discovery in PhotoDJ. I can't recall that I had the "Colour Balance" menu in PhotoDJ before (in K800, K770), but now it exists over there (K850 R1E). And I gave it a shot, guess what.. It works very amazingly! Really amazing.

It really pops up the color of every pics you take. Still saving the image quality. And most important, your pics will have the original EXIF data. I'm so happy that I found it. And plus, I can't get the result like the one below with Photoshop (i've tried).

Look at those pictures below. From this:

With some Colour Balance magic, becomes this:

You can look at the full res: http://www.esato.com/phonephotos/viewphotos.php?pid=10190 and check the EXIF data. It doesn't change at all.

Anyway, forget the blurry image cause I really didn't take my shots seriously. I just played around, tried PhotoDJ, till I found the amazing new feature on it. Just focus on the color reproduction.

So from now on, we can say goodbye to the "washed out" pics.

Oh.. here's the screenshot of the new feature:

1st pic: There's a new feature "Colour Balance" in PhotoDJ. It doesn't appear there before.

2nd pic: You can move the cursor to the left, and saturation will decrease.

3rd pic: Significant changes if you click 4-5 times to the right. Look at those colours.

Of course, it's not needed everytime you take pics, but it's absolutely useful.

Sounds like you may have rediscovered what SE calls PhotoFix (mentioned in the announcement of K850).

No, PhotoFix in my K850 (R1E, 3.9 cam s/w) (and also in my K770) is not so good. It only decreases the brightness so it's useless. Really. The washed out photo will become more washed out after PhotoFix.

The Colour balance works quite differently. It increases the saturation. But in a very good way cause when I try to increase the saturation of the washed out pic in Photoshop CS2, it didn't work quite well.

Colour balance fixes it with a few clicks. And the color still becomes very natural without the feeling it's over saturated.

BTW.. some says this one exists in R1C K850.

Frankly speaking, I don't remember this color balance stuff in the previous firmwares. I don't use PhotoDJ very often..that's why. This is great. We can make Nokia-like snapshots, right?

@arema
yes, that's true. but fortunately, you can only add a little saturation so the color won't be "fake".

@plank
it surely doesn't exist in k800/k810/k770. but i don't know about k850 r1c.
coz i barely remember if it existed in my previous k850's f/w (r1c).
