I'm thinking about getting a new phone but I haven't really been following modern phones.
You want me to repair your 3310 I can do it in seconds but new phones I drifted off after color mobiles came in .

So I'm trying to catch up really, I like the N95 due to all the features which by the way phones are amazing now I can't believe what I've been missing!

3g, would I be paying for this because I thought 3g was like constant internet access on the phone, if its like the GSM I don't want to be ripped off for leaving it on!

So contracts is really the reason I'm here, the phone itself is a damn rip off on my salerie, so if I get the phone for £35 a month and like 20p a min calls 10p a text what ever the going rates are will I be getting charged for anything else or is it just £35 a month I don't really use mobiles much so I'm hoping it will just be £35 a month, what small print am i missing?

you pay for the contract and you get a set amount of call minutes and texts. you use them withouyt paying anything extra. once you finish them you pay extra per minute/text.

heres an example: you get 600 free minutes and 1000 free texts and unlimited o2 to o2 calls(or some other extra). plus the free n95(£99 for n95 8gb version). all for £35 per month

Brilliant, so am I paying for the 3g access which I believe is always on?

Are their any alternative phones that can be a good competitor for the n95?

GPS, 3G, 5MP cam, all that junk that sounds good.

Personally I can't find anything that is any good compared to the n95.

Have a look at the N82. All the features of the N95 8GB (minus the 8GB storage), plus a real camera flash, and cheaper too.

And no, with GPRS or 3G, you only pay for how MUCH you use, not how LONG you're on there. That hasn't been around since dial up wap (blimey you ARE in the dark ages lol).

So if 3G is on the in background, no, you won't pay a penny. You get charged £3 per MB you use with O2, so the more you use it, the more it'll cost. But once you've opened a page you can look at it for as long as you like and you won't be charged any more.

You can't be serious £3 a MB!
Thats ridiculous, I would get charged a hell of a lot just getting emails!
I cannot believe that, £3 per 100mb I would be happy with but 1MB!!

Really?
I can't find anything about 3g charges, anyone got a link I just cannot believe this!

LOL, bloody hell calm down.

Talk about crashing into the 21st century on your arse

Yes, £3 per MB, but luckily you can get an Unlimited Web bolt on with O2 for £7.50 a month on pay as you go or contract. If you choose to use it as a modem (ie using the phone as a means to get your PC or laptop on the Internet) then you'll need the £30 a month add on that gives you Unlimited up to 3GB a month including data transfer.

Welcome to the 21st century, this is how much data costs, I'm afraid.

if you dont want unlimited o2 to o2 calls you can choose unlimited internet instead, if you get it on contract with o2. here is a list of the free extras you can choose from. if you want more than one you pay 7.50 for each.

Unlimited O2 to O2 Calls
Unlimited texts
Unlimited Web Bolt On (this one)
Unlimited weekend calls
Unlimited landline calls
200 extra anytime minutes
