i recently got an 8gb m2 memory card from rogers for free... and was wondering how do i format this to use on my s500i... i follow the instructions it gives with my phone but then it says formatting failed =S

I'm not too knowledgable, but I honestly never format any memory card for use with phones. when I got my 4GB M2 card I just put it in the K850 and it works just like that. the same when I got my 2GB Pro Duo for my K750. have you tried plugging the phone to the computer with the card inside? maybe you can format it like that. or... have you tried formatting the card using a card reader plugged to a computer?

best way to do it via pc imo. just formatted one of mines, took some secs, no problems

Welcome to Esato. Great phone isn't it, not best deal with Vision $7 and the $25 Communicate plan. yes I too just got this phone & I'm in Toronto on Rogers.

press UP on the O-pad (default is the File Browser) - or go into Organizer and select File Browser, then selection Options> and you should see Format Card there.

Correction!
File Browser (All Files)> Options> Memory Status> click into Memory card> Options "Format mem.card".

Connect phone with USB cable, then open My Computer and click right button on Memory card -> Format...

Then format again from phone.
