> w960 update problem

hey everyone
Got a w960 today and have been trying to use the sony ericsson update service but im getting no where quick!
Basically i've installed the update service and pc quite, but when i click on the updater short cut on my desktop the updater doesn't go past the first screen with the swirly sony ericsson logo, it just sits there swirling away!
Has anyone else experienced this and if so how did you sort it?!

I had the same the other day. Just opened up task manager and ended the process. Closed all other applications then re-started the update service. It worked fine after that, although it's still telling me i have the latest firmware available.

I tried closing it down with task manager and starting it again but it just wont go past the initial swirly sony ericsson screen!
Im searching like mad on the forums here for some answers but not having much luck so far!

maybe disable virus protection for a little while. sometimes they get in the way

To follow on from the last post, it could also be a firewall problem, as it usually checks for updates during the swirly splash screen bit. Make sure that any software firewall/router you may be using isn't blocking it.

will turn off all my anti virus stuff when i get in and try updating then, hopefully that'll sort it
