K850 has same size of sensor like K810,K800 (5.18mm)

So I'm curious , Is it the same sensor but with improver software?

Thanks..

NO you wrong

k850 have a Sony CMOS IMX020 1/2.8

K800 have a Sony CMOS IMX-018

and N95 have a Micron Technology CMOS MT9P001 1/2.5" , (the color saturation you see with N95, dosent come by its outstanding sensor, it comes by its camera software...not many people who maybe know that)

think its the same sensor on N95/N82, only a small different between the camera software

about k800/k810......K810 have a little more optimized camera software, (the camera is little faster, etc)

ps... i dont know why people think that k850 and k800/k810 have the same sensor !
(IMX020 capture easier less light, produce better details, etc, and some other stuff as well).

@plankgatan
N82 is a bit better than K850 in camera and K850 is better than N95..

So I guess N82 uses different sensor..

Because since the k750 SE has added more and more postprocessing/filters to the pictures (e.g. oil paint)..
I've always had the feeling they do this to hide the faults from the sensor that can't really handle 5MP (or even 3.2mp for that matter)
If you resize outside k850 pics to 2mp, they're hardly any better than k750 photos.

sorry i dont agree on that...(i think N82 have same sensor then N95. i also think K850 have a more stable camera).

1. N82 take "better" daylight pics, (with that i mean thicker saturation, which comes from its camera software)

2. K850 take better low light

3. K850 produce better details, (which means a more sensitive sensor)

4. which means that K850 have a better allround camera

thats my opinion

ps... im not saying N82 is bad.

i have show this 2 pics millions of times, and i show them again, (because i think they tells what i mean)

well in my opinion..........and i think in the opionion of most people with knowledge in camera sensors.....the MT9P001 sensor is better than the IMX020.

it seems not many people know about the camera sensors used in mobile phones,
the focal length of the k800 & k850 are exactly the same 5.2mm, the new c902 & c702 are 5.18mm because the phones are smaller and have less space thats why the xenon flash was scrapped.
the k850 uses a Sony MCB991 sensor a upgraded version of the k800i's MCB881 sensor.
in all 5mp cam phones there is heavy post-processing done controlled by the cam modules, the sensors in all 5mp are tiny and overloaded with megapixels the sensors can't coupe and produce loads of pixel errors and grainyness and can't handle colours very well, the k850 uses very light post-processing on it's daylight pics you can still see the grainyness, pixel errors etc but hardly any detail is lost which is good, but in low-light more post-processing is applied because there will be more pixel errors and alot of detail is lost. the nokia pictures are very heavily post-processed all the time and 60% of the detail is lost. the sonyericsson c902 the pictures are heavily post-processed like the nokias and all details are lost it looks more like vga.
