Hi,

I've seen a bunch of posts here about Vertu, Nokia and iPhone clones, speaking specifically about Vertu - I got acquainted with a new line of these that actually say VERTU instead of the damn old VEPTU.

I took the liberty, and risk perhaps, of ordering one online and I'm currently awaiting the almost-ten-times-cheaper beauty - the V8, quoted at a little less than 300 bucks including shipping.

What was promised: a TFT LCD (262,000 colors); English, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese, Melayu Languages, MP3 and MP4 player, 2.0 M camera (the original has no cameras, I know, but wtf, if I can get a 5000 bucks worth Vertu clone with a CAMERA, unlike the original, why not? hehe), and other standard stuff.

They did go a little low on the memory - 128 megs. On the other hand, if my 4Gb iPod is laced with all the music and videos I love, the fact [128 MB] seems to be an 'enlightner' rather than a drawback.

Anyway, as soon as I get my VERTU clone I'll be sure to give y'all a buzz
Meanwhile, I'd appreciate a little feedback and thoughts from you!

Peace.

Vertu Replica - I got mine from here - 250 bucks... Should arrive within 2-3 days, I hope.

Anyone bought anything from the Lux Replica site? Are they good?

I couldn't handle having a fake and knowing it's a fake. If I wanted one so desperately, I'd save for a real one cause a fake will never be as good. Same with second hand and new stuff. It's always new for me, I don't like "pre-loved". I guess this is just me though...?

Yeah, maybe you gots a point there M, but spending $25,000 on a Vertu Ferrari Edition is damn baaad I'd buy myself a car instead and get a 10-times-cheaper Vertu.

About the quality - these things are getting better by the month. I hope I won't be disappointed when I get mine.

Yeah true. I guess that is far too much to spend on a phone... Good point. I just wouldn't buy a real one or a fake one!

Surely, anyone who sees you with this phone, will think either:-
a) that's a fake... not so cool. (presuming you are not one of the world's richest individuals)
or
b) £25k spent on a phone ...crazy.

I hope you bought it for yourself and were not counting on the adulation of others.

I'd have it. I reckon less than 1% of people in this town know what a Vertu is, so if I show them this and tell them what it is (according to ME of course lol) then they'll be all 'ooooh'

i quite like the fakes, i only no 1 other person apart from this site that knows what this phone is anyway, still a little expensive for a fake though if you ask me,
