Well the fact that you can take a picture of your friend and put it to appear when he calls you is great! But i just wat to know some methods of converting the images into formats that consumes less space. What i mean is,let's say i take a picture with the mca-25 camera in 640x480 resolutin and its saved in jpeg format.Problem is that pictures' space is about 40-55 kb,which means you can't have enough space in your mobile for all the contacts to have a pic!
What i need to ask,is what can i do to convert a picture into gif,and compress it then,in order to consume no more than 5-10kb space, with as less quality reduction as possible! And Also what can i do to make the quality better?Cause lot of pics i take are blur, with lots of dots!

you can send the pictures made by the mca-2x to the pc and open it with every paint prog (i use paint shop pro 7). when it is open as jpeg you only have to resize (for the calls you don't need more than 80x60) and save as gif (max. 256 colors) and you can resend it to your phone and it won't be bigger then 3-4 kb!!
easy, isn't it?
and to correct the pics made by the mca-2x i use also paint shop pro 7... it is very easy to use this!!! highly recommended

640*480 is the size of the picture, but the screen size on your mobile is 101*80
so take a smaller photo is good for the caller's identification
to reduce correctely the image :

it depends on the pic quality! because of the light i often have to adjust brightness and contrast or balance the RGB or to blur! you have to try... but i helps to improve the quality!

and for the call pics... you don't see more then 80x60 if somebody calls you!
i mean that you only have to resize them if they are bigger then 80x60!

you don;t need to have it on that highest resolution if u r just going 2 view it when the person calls you. the lowest resoultion does just fine.

yup... for caller picture, most ideal is 90x70 pixel.. (screen is 101x80) its size is around 40-50Kb.. but, u can reduce size by editing the picture (reduce color from 256 to 10-20 only) and it can reduce down to 1Kb.. i've done it..
btw... my phone is t68m, but i dont know nothing about the software.. my phone can use the caller picture.. i dont know which SW version it use.. anybody can help??

Hey Guys,
I take every picture with my mca-20 at 640x480 then transfer them over to my pc with irda and do a clean up with photoshop and convert to 101x80. The pic is about 2-4kb in size. I currently store about 45 pics, 2-3 animiated gifs, 2-3 themes and about a dozen ringtones. and still have about 272kb left on my phone.
I believe this site belongs to Dagger. it has a walkthrough and an action file for photoshop to make life even easier.
