> Sony P910i Accessing phone memory?
Bookmark topic
Hi please could someone tell me if there is a way of accessing the phone memory in my Sony P910i? Unfortunately it does not start up (pressing the on/off button you can feel it vibrate then plays the switching off tone also when connecting the charger no warning tone or screen start up)
I have just bought a Sony P1i & want to transfer the data in my old phone to the new one but can't see how I can do this if the P910i does'nt turn on - I am open to all suggestions.... Phone is out of warranty but as it's not worth much only want to access the phone memory
Thanks

Will it boot into flash mode, ie. if you were conncting it to SEUS? I think I've read that this is a way of fixing boot errors - to boot it into FM, shut it down again, remove and replace the battery, then try to boot normally.
Don't go ahead and reflash the phone though, just take it through the phone detection stage, as you will lose your data if you go any further.
Otherwise you may have some luck taking it to an independant phone repairer, as they often have tools/software to revive dead phones.
Also, is it possible that you have a dead battery, as in really dead/unchargable?

Thanks AD for coming back to me it's much appreciated.
In response:
I am not sure what you mean by boot into flash mode? I have not tried connecting it anything SEUS? (think your refering to some sort of Sony Ericsson software, is this the CD that comes with the phone?)
Will try this when I get home & see if it boots in Flight Mode, being wary not to reflash or else your suggestion of trying an independant phone repairer might seem like the best way to go
I know the battery was not the best but was working - think this latest problem might be because I left it on charge all night, which is normally not a problem but on this occasion I switched the phone off!
Thanks again will let you know if I manage to recover the data

SEUS is software downlloadable from Sony Ericsson's website that enables you to update the software in your phone. To do this, it (SEUS) boots your phone in a special way to access the internal file system/software on your phone. What I was suggesting was to use this to try to bring your phone back to life, by making it start in a different way, and possibly clear the error that is preventing you from starting it normally.
If you have the pcsuite that came on the CD loaded onto your computer, then you already have the nesscessary drivers etc., and all you need to do is download/install SEUS from here:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/c[....]pdateservice/p910i?cc=gb&lc=en
Just follow it's instructions, and exit after the phone detection stage.
If you haven't loaded the pcsuite from the cd, then you'll need to do this first.
