I tried to update my k850i phone (bought it unlocked and unbranded from trusted supplier) using the SEUS. It got to 37% and failed.. Now my phone is dead.. It won't turn on, it won't charge... Nothing. I tried running the SEUS update again but it fails at 0%. May battery was FULL when I started the update.. I tried charging my battery in a friend's phone to full and the SEUS update still doesn't run, still fails at 0%. The only sign that the phone is still alive is that when i connect it to my PC when SEUS is running it gets as far as telling me my firmware version and model (after plugging it in while pressing C and the releasing)..

I called Sony and they'll fix it for free and pay the shipping (I was shocked to discover that they are open on Saturdays lol!)

So no big deal but WTF? SEUS shouldn't kill these phones. My brick will take about 3 weeks to fix and return to me.. Oh well. I think I'm gonna go buy a Rogers k850i on my HU and sell my unlocked one when i get it back.

Any ideas why this happened? Thanks!!

Does XS++ 3.1 work with the k850i?

I suppose I could try flashing it that way but the Wotan client has an error when connecting to it (good thing I didn't buy credits first lol!)

no.

no free flashing tools work with the k850 (or any other db3150 phone) yet

I see.. any other ideas before I send it back to Sony.. They are paying for everything so I don't mind sending it back - but I'd rather fix it myself!

You can try flashing the phone MAIN and FS .But no free flashing tool.

I think imma just send it back to SE.. If the w*tan client doesn't even recognize the phone, then it probably IS completely f**ked.
