> Kids are spoilt these days
Bookmark topic
Just been watching BBC news and kids were doing their own reports. One topic was on using phones in school and to my shock one pupil was sitting there with a Nokia N95. Jesus how do kids get hold of such expensive phones not even i can afford a phone of that price. I really think kids today are spoilt and demand far too much from their parents. And parents must be mad if they take out contracts for their kids they should just give them pre pay phones. Anyone else take my view on this i know it really should not bother me but honestly i really should not be shocked to be honest. Kids eh. Mind you i dont want to offend anyone who has given their kids expensive phones or contracts its just my opinion.

I agree to a certain extent, kids ought to work for their stuff, either at home or maybe a part time job.
Though the other side of the coin is, most parents want their kids to have everything in life that they lacked, so its tough to know where to draw the line

Even though phones are my life, my kids aren't having one till they turn 14, same age I got one.
And I will NOT be putting them onto contract until their 16 at the earliest.
One of my collegues, buys phones throughout the year as she wears hers out (a bit), and she GIVES her FIVE (FIVE!!) year old son them to play with, with TOPPED UP pay as you go sim cards in, so he can call her (f**k knows why!) and then he looses them around the house (and their not cheap, she's lost her K800i, her W800i and her 6300 I think) and she just says "oh well".
Pisses me off no end :/
Worst thing is, these kids with N95's, they convince their parents to get one for them (stupid parents if you ask me), but the kids just want it because its the 'latest coolest' thing to have. I stopped one of my friends whos a couple of years younger than me (he was about 18 at the time) buying an N95 because I had the following conversation with him:
Him: Umm, so whats this 'Whiffi' thing this phone has.
Me: Errr, you mean "WiFi"?
Him: Yeah, that.
Me: *rolls eyes* right....well it's basically wireless Internet...
Him: Don't need that.
Me: Ok, do you know what GPS is?
Him: Yeah, sure, it's ummm....like.....Infrared on your telly remote?
Me: Get out....now....
Get the idea? :/

james. Do u have a son or daughter? I dont need 8gb mem but ive had the N95-2 dead cheap anyway. Kids should have £10 phones at 15 and when they have grown up got a job then ask there parents as a gift. Mobiles weren't around when I was at School only personal stereos lol

I'm pretty young myself (23) and this shocks me. I can't believe how things have changed. Soon, kids won't appreciate anything because they have everything at such a young age.

@sean
ive seen an n80 (shortly after it was released), quite a few N95's and a w910 in my school (no k850's though).
i have a k810 and a k800. the k800 was given to me to fix, but the owner decided he didnt need it anymore as he got a new phone so i decided to use it and hack & mod it to the max. the k810 does me fine, but it would be nice if it had wifi.
once someone gave me a barred n95 to try and fix (never happened btw as i knew it was illegal to unblock fones) and i had a quick go of it and i didnt get on with it

I gave one of my old phones to my 2 year old nephew once. It didnt have a sim as it was only used as a toy.
