Hi All i have just become the owner of a s500i phone and after installing PC suite which works fine i connected the USB but unfortunately it will not locate the usb port?
It says on Disc2phone 'error No target device please insert mem stick or connect phone via USB' but it is connected it's just when i loaded the usb it said the Sony Ericsson device USB ethernet emulation port didn't connect, that was the only one, is this because the USB cable provided is crap or is it my comp?! Should i buy another one or will that be the same, Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

That worked though, just not to transfer music, which leads me to believe that the USB is fine because it connected in phone mode but it doesn't do it in File transfer, what could that be why it doesn't work in transfer?!

but if you want to transfer files, just plug your phone in with your laptop anf voila! then go to my pc and select the phone's memory or the memory stick.

I know i'm being a pain in the arse lol sorry it's just driving me mad, but i don't get what you mean, when i plug the phone into laptop and click transfer files on my phone, nothing happens on laptop screen and when i open disc2phone the box where you transfer the tracks to says 'insert memory stick or connect phone', i don't have a memory stick (is that needed) and my phone is connected, that's where i'm getting confused because it's not registering as being connected via USB.
When i click on safely remove hardware it's got on that i have USB mass storage device followed by sony eri memory stick and Generic volume, the one that's missing is the device 616 ethernet emulation which isn't being accepted.
When you say go to my pc and select the phone's memory or the memory stick. Where is that? when i go into my computer the removable disc says please insert.
