> O2 won't unlock payasugo for 12 mths?
Bookmark topic
I sold a new W910i payasugo phone to someone that was locked to O2, the buyer tried to buy an unlock code today direct from O2 but they say that won't supply a code until the phone is 12 months old. I never knew this so is this correct ?

Yeah just rang them myself and that seems the policy. Nevermind the guy knew it was locked anyway just thought he was misinformed.

Your correct Pk it isn't a very good policy and I nearly purchased another 3 w910i's locked to o2 today but will now give them a miss due to thinking it was easy for buyers to obtain unlock codes, I thought wrong
Might try and get this guy 50 credits from davinci on the cheap so anyone with 50 for sale let me know..
You can now lock this up mr mod if you like

I have had the same problem. I got a Nokia 6300 on O2 pre pay and they told me the same thing. Its not a very good policy when you consider that Virgin give you the code when you have spent just 30 quid with them. Waiting 12 months is a joke when you think about it the phone is yours once you bought it and most people dont keep their phones for that long these days and sell them on. So thats very unfair but i can also understand their side about losing revenue but its not very fair.

I'm not sure, never had a post pay phone that was locked, my wife's SE W880i was bought from the O2 shop recently and to my surprise that was unlocked too, although I think it was probably a post pay phone bundled with a prepay sim just to get rid of the W880i to make way for the W890i.

Its very strange from what I hear most of the people say O2 does not lock their phones.
But we still hear ppl saying they have locked phones.
Is this something to do with prepay postpaid etc?

Its contract that are unlocked pre pay are always locked. O2 said when they do give you at code at 12 months they charge you ten quid. You can get them unlocked most places but Nokia phones are harder.
