whats the difference between a brick phone and WSOD?

afaik WSOD is the white screen of death which is common due to corrupted erom..

so what is a bricked phone??
its signs??

WSOD is due to corrupt gdfs
corrupt EROM means Red light death

red light blinks for 5 times when you try to start phone and phone won't start.
