I had a branded (TIM Italy) firmware. The theme had different icons from basic's SE ones.

I've flashed my phone to generic SE unbranded. Back to standard icons!

I see now that all the custom themes out there have the standard SE menu icons.... ugly!

Is there some themes with customized icons or you need a customized firmware to acheive so?

Right now I dont think it possible to change the icons. So for now your stuck with the original sony icons till someone figures this out.

Yeah it must be in the firmware... I hated the TIM firmware, but I have to admit that the icons were very styleish....pitty I didn't backup my old firmware before flashing it...

I have a k850i that I bought unbranded and it came with several themes which had different icons.. Laser Precision, for example, has different main menu icons than some of the other themes I loaded myself.

I also have a branded k850i from Rogers in Canada, which won't change its menu icons no matter which theme i put on it..

If your phone is unlocked it will change menu icons as you change themes, but if it's just unbranded you might be stuck with the same icons all the time.. I'm not sure.
