Save the .gif to your pictures folder, open it, and enable zoom functions

Thank you both First trying the TFL one.
I am unable to operate the zoom when the map is in its more usable full screen landscape mode. Can you help AD?

What phone do you have? The jogdial on my P1 makes it zoom in/out, and you can centre the window with the stylus (by tapping around on the thumbnail that appears in the corner - you can also drag the main picture). To enable the zoom in landscape, tap the tiny icon that looks like a page of text, and this opens the menu.
I don't think you can set the zoom functions to be on permanently, so you'll have to enable them every time you open the picture. Also, as it's quite a large picture/small screen, you have to zoom in quite a way to be able to read the text.

Would a P1 by any chance have a PDF viewer or something similar? You could simply save a tube map as a PDF file and use that. I presume then you'd be able to zoom.
...And save it into landscape if that helps!

It does indeed, but unfortunately this takes an age to parse/draw the pdf, I tried this first as it happens, and found the .gif much quicker to open.
Had a thought - it might be even quicker to open if you re-save the image as a jpeg, as this seems to be the p1's native format.

@ AD. On my W960 the jog dial just cycles through other pictures in the file.
This is only in landscape mode. In portrait the jog dial does zoom. I woner whether the act of switching to landscape turns off the zoom?
Using the pdf viewer does not recognise the file at all.

Never used UIQ thoroughly, but what if the image was saved into landscape (like landscape when the phone is on its side) originally? Then it would be landscape while in portrait mode and you can use zoom!
