> Send JAR files via MMS
Bookmark topic
Resurrecting an extremely old thread (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=103588), I thought it would be helpful to make a patch to allow sending jar files through multimedia messaging. Just re-enabling the grayed out option: send -> via MMS would do the trick (i guess).
Thx, Phil

MMS structure is not prepared for content like JAD/JAR files

Damn,... I tried tricking the system by renaming the file to jpg but the receiver said its SE W580 gave the message "image removed due to unsupported format" (or similar)... any chance it's possible to remove that via patch?

By definition MMS: Multimedia Messaging Service; should be able to send anything related to media. However the messaging service centers or the clients within our phones have standardized not being able to send such files. probably due to possible worm jar/jad type files or other security issues.
However, I don't see a restriction with a java app being able to use the mms center to send a jar/jad file type.
