"As of February 29, the number of subscribers to mobile TV service in Korea is 11 million including 9.69 million to terrestrial DMB and 1.31 million to satellite DMB. If the growth continues at this rate, terrestrial DMB users will pass the 10 million mark in March.

According to the Broadcasting and Communications Commission and the Special Committee on Terrestrial DMB, over 520,000 T-DMB devices were sold and satellite DMB attracted 36,000 new subscribers during one month of February. Considering monthly sales of terrestrial DMB TVs from last December through February range from 440,000 to 520,000, the number of T-DMB users will exceed 10 million later this month or early next month.

Terrestrial DMB use soared from last year. T-DMB TV sales that were about 120,000 in December 2005 skyrocketed by 0.2 to 0.3 million a month in 2006. In 2007, monthly sales were about 0.5 million.

The overall business environment for T-DMB is also improving. T-DMB service providers finally obtained the permission to carry advertisement in the middle of a program from February. In addition, operators are able to sell commercial ads on better conditions than before and have more stable source of income. From July, mobile TVs will conduct audience rating survey like conventional broadcasters’."

I never really caught onto the idea of mobile tv myself. Think its waste of time money capacity on networks and its rubbish quality too. See no point.

actually it not a bad idea. of course u need a big screen with good resolution, its useful when u have a longer journey. on3 in austria all channels are free ( except porn ) and its in hd format

They should free up the capacity on the networks and use what Virgin Mobile did with Mobile TV using it over DAB or something along those lines. Ah Austria a place i am planning to visit this year. When i was in Hungary i had better mobile coverage than i did here. Lol.

in hungary the net coverage ( especially t-mobile ) is very good indeed. wathced tv even on 6230i ( edge is very fast )
