OK guys. I've been very, very stupid. I think I love my w960i so much that one day when i saw a scratch on the protective cover I decided i would take it off and replace it. Little did i know what would follow....

I started to take it off, foolishly thinking it would be a simple procedure. Unfortunately it wasn't to be...

The initial plastic cover was horrendous to take off. I could see it wasn't going to be easy, but carried through thinking i could wipe the glue remenants off the screen.

Then i found out there was another protectiver layer! So took this off as well. Once these had been taken off i found that the walkman buttons and sony ericsson logo had been peeled off too! Now i'm down to the bare screen (which incidentally doesn't work without the cover(s) on it) and a very frustrated me!

How can I go about fixing this? What is the part called that I require?

Thanks
mb

Heh, I guess I could relate to this. Even though I haven't gone through the thought of actually dissasembling the protective cover to try and replace it myself I sure am rather protective of the phone to a somewhat extreme extent.

Anyways, back to your subject. You're not mentioning any kind of replacement parts in your post, so I gather you were about to replace the screen with any other kind of protective screen found on the mobile phone market.

Now, since you apparently also dissected the touch handling screen I guess you're only down to two options;

1: Leave it at your service center/phone provider and have them fix it
2: See if you can buy these parts separately either at SE or at your retailer. See if you can get a hold of an instruction on how to actually assemble the things so you don't have to go through the hassle of buying yet another touchscreen and protector.

Sorry for not giving you any hands on info, but since I haven't done anything like this myself this is all I can recommend you.
