> P990i flip problem
Bookmark topic
Hi everybody,
I recently acquired a second hand p990i, to replace my aging p900.
I'm very happy with it as it seems very stable and fulfills my phone-needs.
One problem though... the flip that came with the phone is non functional, that's to say: it registers the flip (changes view when I openclose the flip and the keys light up when I flip the flip) but it does not register key presses.
So... is this a common problem (flex cable perhaps)? Does anybody have an idea about how much a replacement would cost? I like the phone without the flip, but I find the flip has its uses and would like to attach it.
TIA,
Dietbrand Vandenberghe

Hi!
My flip stopped working. I sent it in for service and got it back working fine. I don't know however, how much I would have to pay cause it was in my warranty time. But I have nearly never used the flip since. I'm now very pleasd with the phone non-flipped.

Ask at your local phonestore.

It's probably just your settings rather than a hardware fault. Follow these steps:
Control Panel ----> Device---->Text Input---->Flip closed keypad
If the option is 'none', then this is probably the problem, easily remedied by choosing 'multitap/prediction'. Try this first before sending it for service

I just tried your suggestion, too bad it didn't work.
It's strange that the phone sees the flip perfectly it just doesn't register the presses (lighting works, flip open/close screen changes).
ah well I guess I'll better start watching ebay for a flip.
Thanks for the help.
