> Need help backing up P990i

I'm trying to back up my P990i before I update the firmware. I'm using the SE PC Suite for Smartphones.
When I try to back up the phones stuff to my computer I keep getting this message:
"Could not retrieve backup information from the phone (Mobile phone failed)"
The SE SE PC Suite for Smartphones can see and recognize the phone but I can't back up my phone.
Has anyone come across this before and can anyone point me in the right direction.

im able to do back up with pc suite.
remeber to connect the phone in
phone mode
