now heres my question i swapped just the main ciurict out of the w700i to put into my mates w800i
and it all works fine however it crashes when you select camera
now i know that there different camera modules and its using the 2mp af w800i
is the anyway to patch it up to work

its using the just the pcb out of the w700i with every thing else from the w800i
the pcbs looked identical so it must just be a software issue
is it possilbe to flash the w700i to a w800i

Camdrivers for the two phones are different, even the types. W800 uses Sony W700 uses Samsung Techwin you need to install W700 cam driver on the W800 to make it work.

and then you lose the autofocus function... In my opinion this type of conversion is not worth...

do both phones have the same CID?

800's are CID36
700's are CID49

Not really... The W800s have 2 CID versions... There are CID36 and CID49 W800s... but it's not like that with the W700s... They all are CID49, but anyway the CID is not that big problem... The W800 CID can be changed to 49, or the W800 CID36 firmware can be converted to CID49

sorry it seems that you missing me a bit
bit its a w700i with the AF 2mp camera out of a w800i

as it was said would installing the w800i camdriver make it work
or would it need to flashed to a w800i
if so how would i go about flashing it

It should be flashed to w800. It's not working now because the w700 firmware is looking for w700 camera module, while you have installed a w800 one
