> Why do you prefer Brand X to SE?
Bookmark topic
I am sure that there are many users who have owned or, at least, have thought to buy a SE phone - BUT for some reason, they don't do that anymore.
I am interested in reasons for abandoning SE and choosing another brand.
Personally, I have always owned only Nokia phones. Last summer when buying a new phone, SE W880 was an alternative - but in the end, it lost to Nokia E65.
Why? I really hate SE charger which reminds the horrible Nokia Pop-Port connection. (Too loose etc...)
I can promise to buy a SE phone next time IF they abandon that horrible charger!

thats the same season why im abandoning SE, and cause they arent they dont use DSP chips to improve sound quality, and because they dont use 3,5mm jacks, and cause they dont use stereo speakers (well they didnt, seems like they might be changing there ways)

imo nokia has far better support, more applications, easier to use ( symbian vs uiq ) and do rules in the smartfone area

For me I don;t like the fact that walkman and camera phones are seperated. I don't think Java is a good enough platform anymore, it's time SE started using UIQ more and basically I think Nokia are more innovative at the moment. I really like SE but their phones don't do anything for me at the moment.

Used both manufacturers phones for years and had few problems, but got my fingers burnt (not literally

) with the SE K850i and so opted for Nokia E51 as a stopgap which has proved reliable and efficient (but maybe a little dull in comparison to the SE K850i). My wifes SE W880i has proved to be reliable so I might be tempted by the W890i.

finally chose to settle with a blackberry as at the moment (fingers crossed) everything just works and it works well....
I dont mind for big features, i have a stand alone camera (as i am a freelance photographer), i have a stereo and mp3 player i can take with me on journies and finally have a computer for full internet access.... not all mobile but never the less all do their jobs great with no problems!!!!
BB on the other hand works, has great battery life, great screen which is readable even in very bright sunshine! and finally a keypad i can type on properly without gettin thumb strain lol
SE just seem to be laggin a bit on new features and being inovative like they used to be!
And Nokia are doing well they jus need to sort out their bug finding before a release so u dont have to wait for updates straight away lol.

Absolutely agree with you on that, I've had my N82 for a week now and way way more impressed with not only the phone but the software available and the features that Nokia make available, some of the little things that actually count lol, I'd recommend getting a Nokia.
Don't get me wrong I'm still a SE fan and an owner of K800i and K850i but i put those aside and switched full time to N82

I currently own a N82 and am so happy with it. I changed from SE because they are forgetting what their customers want in their phones.
For example, i was going to go for K850. But i tryed it and got frustrated with the touch sensitive buttons (really unpractical), speed of the camera was so bad compared to K800, the camera quality was really slack, you had to hold the phone arkwidly due to the sensor being too sensitive and the flash pictures end up black and the video quality is still QVGA. Not to mention lack of TV-out for a photo centric phone.
Whats even worse is that SE have taken months upon months to even try and fix their software issues.
Now taking all this into account, why wouldnt you decide to get a nokia? Nokia know what their customers want, they also listen to them too, and provide phones that trump SEs for similar or alittle higher price.
SE havent improved their quality as a company either, whereas Nokia have. eg Nokia N82 really fixed so many issues about the N95, they added xenon flash, increased the speed of the camera so its extremly quick, N82 build quality is excellent etc. If anything, the K800 was a much better phone than the K850 IMO.
