I've installed the latest version of google maps for M600i and once i run it, it cant connect and load maps.
I have US T-Mobile w/ Tzones and have Tzone/MMS settings on the phone.
Why doesnt google maps work? I can surf websites just fine through Opera and GPRS connection.

question:
does the total internet plan have a different setting for the phone set up, and could you let me know where I can get them if there is?

Yes it does have different settings. You can configure it via t-mobile configurator on the website but it won't work if you are not signed up for it. (Trust me.) The only other option if you're not willing to fork over the money is to find the java version of Google Maps.
