Hello everyone im new here thought it was a good site so i have come on board. Anyway has anyone seen this in Vodafone shops on their pay as you talk service the Nokia 8800Arte going for £1000. Crazy or what i would not pay that sort of money for that rubbish. Looks nice but thats about it. For £700 less you can get the great SonyEricsson W890 on Vodafone. Need i say more. Im big SE fan by the way but currently stuck with a Nokia. Soon looking to upgrade.

If u like w890i go on, but please do not compare with Nokia 8800 Arte , Nokia arte is touch of class premium, if u hold one in ur hand u will know.

Yes it is nice to look at but it has nothing new to it in terms of features its only the casing thats all. Its not worth that money unless you got it to waste.

@Bonovox
welcome mate!
Yes,
I have to agree
with
you that in terms
of
what you get the
w890 is way better
than the arte,
unfortunately with
the arte you paying
for style and
craftsmanship. The
nokia says 'look at
me I'm more into
style than features
plus I don't mind
paying for it'. It
(arte) is a
magnificent phone
but I wouldn't shell
out that much
money unless it
was
a smartphone.

W890 has good build quality too. I used to own the first 8800 when it first came out the feel was nothing special to me.

The Arte is seriously over price but is targetted at a niche market, the SE W 890i is more of a mainstream product, the quality if the Arte surpasses that of the SE W890i (and so it should for that price), but even if I'd got that kind of money to throw at a phone I'd opt for the SE W890i.

Still got the original Nokia 8800 in the "special edition" gunmetal grey, still boxed just as new, mine feels well built and the slide action is rock solid,, I'm very fussy about quality but this phone is top notch, but feature wise its the pits, got bored with it within a week, but decided it was a "keeper".

Speaking of style I
opted for the moto
v8 which makes
me wonder what
differences there
are between these
two in terms of
build quality. I
mean the moto is
cheap but built
beautifully and
solidly.

Yes I agree the Moto V8 is a beautifully crafted handset, not keen on Motorola's but if I were to get one it would be the V8.
