Spotted this article at microsoft:

has anybody tried it? Does this mean that you can connect your phone to your PC without installing 3rd party software?

Well, in practical... I'm not sure. I guess that the 3rd party software must be compatible in some kind, but if they follow the Bluetooth standard to 100%, the hardware should be able to be used directly through Windows XP without 3rd party software.
Anyone got practical experiences of this with SP1?

yeah, xp's bluetooth software doesn't support virtual com ports! so no outlook sync via ericsson MPM.... it's a pain.!
