Did anyone ever try to polish the touchscreen with DISPLEX or something similar ? Successfully ?
Mine is getting old and I started noticing wear, especially in the part where scroll bar is, but as I really started to love this phone ( P990 ) after hard times in the first six months, I replaced the casing and decided to hold on to it until Pnext or so ... if I could just polish the screen a little it would be perfect !
( tried polishing it with some car polisher, but although nothing went wrong, nothing much was gained either )

Any suggestions (apart from buying a new screen, as it is not in that bad shape ) ?

^ļ¾ Thank you ! Even little improvement is enough for me ! I suspect that touchscreen top layer is much more resistant to wear/tear than regular screens or casings, so it should be much harder to polish it also ...

Why don't you use that stuff to make it as good as you can, then lay on a screen protector?

I've been using Martin Fields screen protector with my P990, I highly recommend it. It's not cheap but you just put it on and forget it. It may even cover up the worn parts on the screen.

Maybe you don't have to change the screen,but the plastic protector above it.I suspect there is this protection...Anyway,every1 around here is using Displex.

@makbil
I have yet to see what I can find in stores in my PayPal not approved country

@701
I don't think that you can remove the factory cover from the screen ... opened the phone few times and I don't think I saw it was possible ( wouldn't have the courage to try it even if I did )

Maybe he hit someone over the head with the phone, and in fact that's why the blood-stained touch screen didn't work (nothing to do with the alcohol).
