Hello

Coming upto my 16th birthday, and although i've hated scooters all through my life there seeming so attractive to get one so i think im going to do so. Im pretty much a noob with bikes never fiddled with them but my dads a nutter with them so a repair job would tickle his fancy

So basically looking for recommendations on a scoot that i can purchase and insure for around a grand, £1200 at the most. A few of my mates have the Peugeot Speedfighter and they seem decent looking? I will definitly be buying used of course, and it probably must be a 2 stroke.

Just hoping some of you have experience in the area, if not my bad.

Thanks anyway
Danny

Don't be a fag, get a proper bike! You'll kill any of your "ped" mates and have a lot more control over acceleration. Mine had a full sports exhaust and was derestricted and cracked out about 70mph! Plus they sound the dogs doolahs!

Second hand ones can be bought cheap, I sold mine for £650, it was 6 years old with just 330 kilometres on the clock! Just like new. Insurance aint bad either.

If he's only 16 he won't be able to get a bike till he's 17 will he? Not a powerful one anyway. Make sure you take your CBT, it's illegal not to.

This is it.

It's a bit off a grand... but it's something to save for.
Damn I want one.

Got a quote for a 1.6 Alfa 147 for myself, for when I'm 17.
£6500.
Car's only £1500!
F*ck off.
And aftermarket rims count as a mod and no one will even insure me with them on!

I hate insurance. Gimps.

Its only 20 times more than the legal cc for 16 year olds, shame that

Dont go higher than 1.4 for your first mate. If your after a class car tho think VW polo/lupo. My mates mate has a 1 litre Polo on a 96P. Not fast but looks good

Save your money and be the envy of your friends, but your first car in a years time, while they'll be stuck with their hairdryer powered bicycles because they spent all their money early on.

As for the Alfa 147, you're young, of course it's going to cost a bloody fortune, make do with a crap car like everyone else does to start with, duh....

I know guys. Not an idiot. Just wanted to try my chances with something a little nicer.
2-3 year old Aygos for pretty cheap.
Same for the Citroen C2.
Those are quite nice, and I'm only 15 now...
They'll only be a coupla grand when I'm 17 When insurance gets cheap enough, then be moving onto Alfas, love them!
