first of all, welcome to esato kabayan!
1. H resembles HSDPA
2. R1EA037 is the latest firmware.. it's up to you whether you want to update or not. it wont make any difference, i think, if you update it. better update is, imho.
cheers!

to be honest, SE have not yet released the "best" firmware yet.. the firmware that you have right now caused a lot of issues with the users.. like random reboots, and worse, BROD (Blue Ring of Death) which, in simple terms, makes your phone useless.. R1EA037 is the new firmware released just weeks ago.. i, for one, is using the latest firmware, and i have not experienced any random reboots yet.. though camera is still not that perfect(flash is sometimes out of snyc = flash burnout).. what im saying is, if you are not experiencing any problems/issues with the phone with your current firmware, dont update yet.. we have a lot of members here which are happy with the picture quality that R1EA031 gives.. but if you want "faster" UI on your phone, might as well update with 037.. btw, if you want to learn more about the firmwares for K850, check out

update through SEUS (Sone Ericsson Update Service).. you can download the program here
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/updateservice?cc=ae&lc=en
and from there just follow the simple steps.. btw, is your phone branded or unbranded?

Branded vs Unbranded: better choice is Unbranded.
Branded simply means that the GUI (Main Menu) structure & icons have been changed, along with selection of Games, or Apps, Themes, and Startup/Shutdown pictures (animated or not); have been changed by the wireless providers.
Example: My Rogers Wireless K850i has a new icon on the main menu that takes me to the wireless portal of my provider. 4 games are ALL demos' that I cannot delete

and are useless to me. I have a "rogers" theme that I never use - which I can change to another of my choice yet cannot delete. Something a little more pervasive & annoying is that SE has worked with providers to restrict certain sites being accessed via bookmarked or manually entered site URL's. for example http:\\\\m.youtube.com cannot be accessed on my branded K850i's internal browser, Rogers portal guides me to their mobile site, yet its not supporting that URL. STrange though that I CAN get it mobile youtube via the Opera Mini browser (java app) and it'll open streamed videos via the built in browser though lol.
