Hello friends.
This is my maiden question to the forum. I hope you could give some clues about my predicament.

My mobile phone is Sony Ericsson K800.

I am not a Windows fan. I am a UNIX fan.

Nowadays I am running open SuSE 10.2 version.

On the mobile phone, I go to the option 'USB' that come under the menu 'Connectivity'.

Afterwards I select 'USB connection'.

It asks me to connect the cable.

When I connect the cable, I see a beautiful folder on the computer screen.

Then I transfer files using drag and drop method.

It is on the 'media' folder. I see two icons. When I insert a USB module, it sits on 'media' folder. I think open SuSE works in that way.

1] /media/PHONE CARD
(1.9GB available)

2] /media/PHONE
(57.5MB available]

I guess the reason for 2 icons is that I have two memory chips. When you buy a phone, they give you a 64MB memory card.

I bought a 2GB extra memory to the phone for the purpose of storing music files and important photos.

Sometimes this does not work. This means the mobile phone fails to recognize the computer. In other words auto mounting fails for some unknown reason.

What is the problem? I appreciate your comments on my problem.

I know how to mount a device on open SuSE 10.2 version.

">Ni@linux-3vxw:~> mount -t ext3 /PHONE CARD /media/Mobile

When I insert a USB module, it always recognizes. I just drag and drop files.
