OK,

Having seen the huge price cut, im tempted to whack myself down to carphone warehouse, and pick me up one of these for £169! As i heard you dont NEED to sign up to the O2 contract. They give you the handset in store, then expect you to go home and sign up to O2 on itunes, but you don't really have to, and can use the phone without (after unlocking? with jailbreak?)

I'm soooo annoyed though that i'm stuck on this 3 contract for the next 16 months!

Is there NO single hack, or some programme, that will let me use my 3-sim in this phone? Will it work just like that anyway!?

I've heard that even if it will operate on GSM with my sim, it's still dodgey, as 3 can cut off my service (hence, would they charge me the remainder of the contract?). How long would it take them to realize im operating on an iphone?

If i whacked my SIM into a 3-g N95 8gb, which i have by me right now every week or so, and made a short call/internet connection from it, then just started using the iphone again, could that avert 3's attention?

thanks. I really have iphone cravings!

iphone is not 3G its only 2G you cannot use a 3 sim in it as they only operate on 3G.

yeah, but i once used a 3 sim card in a 2g K550i and heard somewhere on these forums that someone was using their 3 sim card in an iphone.

three DO have a GSM frequency! I use it all the time ar my house due to their bad 3G coverage.

mmm, i'm ok waiting, but i'll similarly need to wait for more price cuts, as i never like spending over £200 on a phone since my N80 back in the day got stolen!

And i doubt the iphone will start out
Will probably end up waiting 4 - 6 months after release for a predictable christmas price cut bringing it sub-£200

WHY couldn't i have just stayed with vodaphone!

I wish there was a way to get out of this contract.

The shortest time i've had a phone for is... 21 hours.

There is a way to get out,
pay the full line rental and ask for your Pac Code!

however 3 are ok i'd stay with them and use what you got till it expires
plus 3G iPhones will be on eBay and this site for sale as soon as that is available, if you really muct go for one then you could swap your N95-2 for one im sure hope that helps
