Can anyone tell me as im unsure. Does the N95 8 gig and N81 8 gig have solid state memory inside or is it from a hard drive. Reason i ask is obviously solid state memory is more reliable and wont jump like a hard drive with music when knocked about.

i use n95-2 and the hd is very stable, never had any problem with it. also n91 hd was very good, when i used that. the great thing is, that i install most apps on the hd, so at a fw upgrade i just have to store all settings, datas back and thats a big bonus

This phone is quite amazing, for me the only possible drawbacks are of course daily charging and lack of a memory slot.

Other than this, currently I am currently listening to music, using it as a usb modem for internet and charging while text messaging. No crashes, no fuss no muss. Oh yeah I'm using the N95-4, have a -2 for sale if you want it cheap hee hee.

The great thing about N81, N81-8GB and N82 is that they have User Data Preservation (or something like that), so when you do a FW Update your Data is not affected, you can update without Backing Up your data.

@ sighup. In the settings for Wi-fi somewhere, you have to really search for it but you can change the amount of power consumption the phone uses for wi-fi. Default is 100hz, but it can be changed to 10hz. IMO there is no difference when actually using wi-fi. I now charge my phone every 2 days.

That's true, but this thread is about the N95 8Gb

You say hard disk but i thought it was solid state memory. Surely hard disk uses more battery power.

no one stated it was hard disk.

the opening post asks if it is hard disk or solid state and the 1st reply confirms its solid state
